Richard continues to practise as a barrister, arbitrator and mediator specialising in shipping and insurance disputes. However, he spends an increasing amount of time on pro bono work. This is primarily for Action4Justice, which seeks to enable those in the Global South to use the law to protect the environment and uphold Human Rights but also, more specifically, on an aspect of Climate Justice, on which he has written and spoken extensively. He continues to plant as many trees as possible in Oxfordshire and occasionally turns out for the Stowe Templars CC as well as Swinbrook village cricket club.
